About Little Folks

Specific educational needs policy

The aims of the Little Folks day nusery is to have regard for the Department of education and employment code of practice on the indentification and assessment of specific educational needs. We provide a 'Homely' and safe environment, which allows appropriate learning facilities for all children.

We feel that children with special needs have the right to be cared for and educated together with other children. And after consultation between the parents and key workers, we would plan the best way to secure this, and when needed, seek out the help of outside agencies.

We will try to adapt our facilities wherever possible to suit each child's individual needs.

We openly promote equality through play, stories and other mediums, and always try to relay positive images of those with specific needs.

A more in-depth report promoting our specific needs policy can be found within the reception area of the building. A copy will be provided upon request.
